What is the difference between IT recruitment and staff augmentation?
Recruitment ends with someone becoming your employee, or an employee of a party acting on your behalf. Staff augmentation supplies engineers who remain AgileTech employees while working on your backlog. If you want capacity for a defined period, our dedicated development team and offshore development services are the right pages. If you want the capability to belong to your organisation permanently, this practice is.
Which of the three routes should we use?
Use headhunting when you have a legal entity in the country and want a permanent employee. Use employer of record when you want to employ someone in Vietnam but have no entity there and are not ready to create one. Use build operate transfer when the goal is a whole team and an operating capability that eventually becomes yours. If the answer is genuinely unclear from your situation, we will say which we think fits and why.
How long does it take to hire a developer in Vietnam?
It depends on seniority, stack scarcity, and the notice period the candidate is serving, which in Vietnam is commonly 30 to 45 days for permanent roles. We do not publish an average time to hire because it would mislead more often than it would help. What we will do at briefing is give you a realistic range for your specific role and tell you what would need to change to shorten it.
Do you guarantee your placements?
Guarantee terms, including the guarantee period and whether the remedy is a replacement search or a refund, are agreed in the engagement contract before a search begins. We set them out in writing rather than describing them generally here, because the appropriate terms differ between permanent placement, employer of record, and build operate transfer.
Can you employ people for us if we have no legal entity in Vietnam?
Yes. That is what our employer of record and payroll service does. The employee works for you day to day while the legal employment relationship, payroll, tax, and social insurance obligations sit with the employing entity under Vietnamese law. It is the usual route for testing a market before deciding whether to incorporate.
What roles do you recruit for?
Frontend, backend, and full-stack developers, mobile developers, QA engineers, DevOps and cloud engineers, data and AI engineers, designers, business analysts, and engineering leadership including tech leads and engineering managers. Where a role sits outside our own technical experience we will say so rather than take the brief.
How do you screen candidates technically?
Screening is carried out by engineers working in the relevant stack, and it examines how a candidate approaches a problem rather than whether their CV matches a keyword list. You receive the reasoning behind each assessment, including the reservations, so you can calibrate our standard against your own before you interview.
Why hire technology talent in Vietnam?
Vietnam has a large and growing engineering workforce with strong output in software development, and salary levels remain well below those in North America, Western Europe, and Singapore for comparable capability. The trade-offs are real too: English proficiency varies considerably by role and seniority, and the time zone suits Asia-Pacific and European collaboration better than North American. We will discuss both sides against your specific situation.
Do you handle payroll, tax, and social insurance?
Under the employer of record service, yes: payroll processing, personal income tax, and compulsory social, health, and unemployment insurance are administered as part of the arrangement. Under permanent placement those obligations sit with you as the employer, though we will explain what they involve in Vietnam before you hire.
Is AgileTech Vietnam certified?
Our quality management practices are verified by ISO 9001:2015 and our information security management practices are supported by ISO 27001:2013. AgileTech Vietnam has also been named a Top App Developer in Vietnam by Clutch.co and holds a 4.9 out of 5 rating on Clutch.
How do we get started?
Share the role or the team you need and the constraints around it, including budget, timeline, and whether you hold a legal entity in Vietnam. We will tell you which route fits, what is realistic, and where we think the brief needs adjusting, before any search begins and at no charge.
